Capodimonte Floral Centerpieces
Capodimonte porcelain dates back to 1759 in Naples, Italy. “The Capodimonte name, sometimes written as Capo di Monte, was synonymous with the finest quality Neapolitan porcelain and ceramics from that period onward,” according to the Capodimonte Limited website. The Royal Factory came to being when King Charles of Naples married Maria Amalia. Her grandfather was Augustus II who founded the first European hard paste porcelain factory in Meissen, Germany. King Charles not to be outdone had The Royal Factory, (now closed), founded after many years of research making hard paste porcelain. Once the process was perfected many men and women worked to make the beautiful Capodimonte porcelain coffee cups, plates, vases, and many other porcelain items.
